The Biscuits won their seventh game in a row on their return to Riverwalk Stadium to face the Carolina Mudcats. Fireworks celebrated the win and Montgomery has been strong on the mound and at the plate. Wade Davis allowed only one run it the first inning. John Jaso and Chris Nowak both hit doubles in the 8th Inning to combine to 3 RBIs.
The thrill of victory was dulled by an injury to Rhyne Hughes in the 8th Inning. While attempting to bunt, the foul ball smashed into his face and sent him to the ground hard. Riverwalk Stadium was quiet waiting for Rhyne to return to his feet. Rhyne walked off the field and, as reported on the Biscuit's website, was rushed to the hospital for surgery on a broken jaw.
For a 2006 flashback - It was good to see John Raburn back in Montgomery, it's just too bad he was wearing the Mudcat's uniform.
